The selection of newsreaders for Usenet has decreased in recent years. Many of the newsreaders currently available for Windows and Linux cannot establish connections via TLSv1.2 and TLSv1.3. In a small test, Thunderbird and its fork SeaMonkey were the only newsreaders that could connect via TLS correctly.
